Do I need to fit the curved cornice corners?
No. With a crisp sharp mitre, it’s not compulsory to fit the curved corners.
Do you have any tips for the installation?
- The installation should be started once the basic roof structure is in place (the bars and ridge) but before you install the glazing and guttering.
- Please ensure the eaves beam joints are tight before your installation. If any gaps are left, they could translate through to the cornice mitres.
- Try temporarily fixing the lower sections and position them appropriately to obtain the best mitre fit.
- Cleats should only be used to position the mitre joints. Don’t try to force the cleats during assembly!
What is the difference between a cornice and coving?
A cornice serves the purpose of hiding unsightly fixtures between the roof and wall. They also can hide the gap between timber framing and plasterboard to allow for contraction and expansion of the wood. Coving is a decorative feature that refers to a specific type of cornice that is uniform in style.
Does this product come with a warranty?
A ten year manufacturer’s guarantee comes with the Ultraframe cornice.
